Prolific leakster Mukul Sharma has dug up a picture of some Nothing ear (1) TWS earbuds that look almost identical to the existing model, but not entirely. These look like a minor refresh, and with almost a year having passed since the ear (1) came out, that's not very surprising. The new buds replace the Nothing ear (1) branding on the stems of the originals with ear (1) Stick. They also have two dots at the bottom instead of...

While Google's perception of how many people switch from iOS to Android might be optimistic to put it nicely, it sure is useful to have such a handy switching tool. Nothing confirms Snapdragon 778G+ chipset for the phone (1)

Today he confirmed that the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ premium mid-range SoC. This is in fact no surprise, since a Nothing phone (1) prototype was spotted on Geekbench with that exact chipset a few days ago, but it's nice to have the official confirmation. Clearly high-end chips have gotten much more expensive these days than they were back when Pei co-founded OnePlus...

There’s evidence that suggests that both the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will use new front-facing camera sensors that are capable of recording 4K video. This is denoted by the camera tags found within the APK’s code “p21_front_setup” which was previously only tagged on the Pixel 6 Pro. Google's Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL receive what is almost certainly their last update

While right now it offers a longer support window, Google's Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL aren't covered by it since they launched before it was announced. As such, their software support should have ended back in November of last year. And yet Google still delivered updates to these devices in January and February. The build sent out in February was expected to be the last ever to be received by these phones, but Google likes to be surprising so it's sending out one more update to the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. This is surely the last one they'll ever get, but it's an important one if you plan on using...

Asus ROG Phone 3 finally gets to taste stable Android 12

Asus has finally released the stable, finalized update to Android 12 for the ROG Phone 3 from 2020. According to the company's schedule, this was supposed to come out in the first half of the year, and so it's kept its promise, if only by a few days. Asus sure took its sweet time with this one - Android 13 is practically around the corner, but ROG Phone 3 owners only now get to taste last year's Android 12. Such is the life of gamers, presumably. Anyway, the new build is labeled 31.0210.0210.230, and it lands after an almost two-month beta testing period, so hopefully there aren't any...

Incoming Montblanc Summit 3 running Wear OS 3.0 will be compatible with iOS

The state of Wear OS is still not clear. Google promised an overhaul with Wear OS 3 and we’re expecting a new Google Pixel Watch that runs Wear OS 3. The only Wear OS 3 wearables on the market for a while were last year’s Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 models and these were the first time Samsung’s Watches were no longer compatible on iOS. This led us to believe that Wear OS 3 smartwatches would no longer cater to iPhone users. This is not the case, however, with new information from Wareable. The recently announced Montblanc Summit 3 has been confirmed to be compatible with iOS as per a Qualcomm...

Prices of desktop GPUs have started to normalize, but it seems that Nvidia still feels there is a need for something cheap and easy to produce - component maker Colorful has let it slip that there is an Nvidia GTX 1630 on the way. This will be a cut down on the previous base model, the 1650. This means it is based on the Turing architecture from 2019. The difference between the GTX 16 and the RTX 20 series is that the former lacks ray tracing and tensor hardware. According to leaked data, the GTX 1630 will have fewer CUDA cores than the 1650, which will be compensated slightly with...

Top 10 trending phones of week 25

After making the top 10 last week, when they were still a rumor, the Poco pair of F4 and X4 GT were the favorites for topping our chart this time around. It was not to be, though, as the Nothing Phone (1)'s teaser campaign was so successful there was nothing stopping the company's first phone. The Poco F4 thus had to once again settle for the silver medal, while the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra dropped to third. The Galaxy A53 held onto fourth position as the Poco X4 GT didn't manage to improve from fifth. The Redmi Note 11 slid to sixth, but still managed to stay ahead of the Apple...

vivo 50W Wireless Flash Charger test

The smartphone “charging wars” are predominantly fought on the wired front where some companies already passed the 100W thresh hold giving you a full 0-100% charge in around or even under 20 minutes. But every now and then the battle is carried over on the wireless front where makers are also reaching speeds that were unthinkable a couple of years ago. One such device is the vivo X80 Pro which we reviewed not too long ago and which supports 50W wireless charging. The only catch is that you need a specialized wireless charging stand. We recently received one such charger at our office –...

Week 25 in review: Poco F4 and X4 GT are official

Welcome to the end of week number 25. Let's take a look back. Samsung has apparently accumulated some 50 million unsold smartphones. The A-series is reportedly mostly to blame, failing to meet its sales targets for one reason or another. 50 million is around 18% of Samsung's planned shipment target this year, which isn't good at all. Samsung made around 20 million units per month early this year, but that dropped to around 10 million in May. This could be a reaction to having too many units stuck in inventory and seeing low demand. The lower demand has also made Samsung cut its component...

Weekly poll results: most people are fine with 256GB storage on their phones

Last week we asked you how much storage you use on your phone. It turns out most can fit within 256GB total. “Total” because we also queried you about your thoughts on microSD slots on phones. Here’s the breakdown. Just over 40% of people can squeeze in 128GB or less. That said, 36% need at least 256GB. This means 128GB models are still viable, but you should be looking at a phone with more room if you want to keep it for a long time. A freshly set up phone is fairly lean, but cruft starts to accumulate pretty fast. Photos you snapped quickly and didn’t intend to keep, images coming...

If you've been keeping up with Pixel news lately, then you probably know that a number of prototype units for both the vanilla Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro are already out in the wild. A few more low-level details have now been unearthed. In no particular order let's start with the new Tensor 2 chipset. The new leak reaffirms that the Pixel 7 custom GS201...

Poco X4 GT in for review

The Poco X4 GT smartphone debuted earlier today and it's now joining our review queue. But first we wanted to share our first impressions of the handset. This device is identical to the Redmi Note 11T Pro in China - Dimensity 8100 chipset and a 144Hz screen being its highlights. It enters the hyper-competitive sub-€400 price segment, though so it will need to really impress with its performance to stand a chance of making a serios impact. Our unit is in an understated Gray color. The sides are flat, which is a great feature, but the screen and back panel are 2.5D curved, making...

Asus ROG Phone 6 flexes its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 muscles in a Geekbench test

From what we’ve seen so far, the major upgrade on the Asus ROG Phone 6 will be the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which will take over from the 888+ of last year’s model.
