A few weeks ago, Nothing founder Carl Pei confirmed that the Phone (2) - arriving in July - will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. And more recently, Pei said the Nothing Phone (2) would pack a 4,700 mAh battery, which is 200 mAh larger than the Phone (1)'s cell. Now the company has revealed the Phone (2)'s screen size. The Nothing Phone (2)'s screen will be 0.15" bigger than Phone (1)'s display, measuring 6.7" diagonally. While Nothing hasn't divulged its resolution, it will likely be FullHD+ like the Phone (1)'s panel. Nothing Phone (2)'s design teaser Additionally,...

LG Korea has announced the LG StanbyME Go 27LX5, a portable display that's built inside a travelling case. This somewhat bizarre product features a 27-inch 1080p touchscreen display along with speakers and battery inside what clearly looks like a briefcase. The display can be tilted up to 90 degrees, rotated clockwise to 90 degrees, and adjusted in height within an 18-centimeter range. Users can choose horizontal or vertical orientation or utilize it in table mode. The display also supports Dolby Vision. To go along with the display you also get a set of 20W speakers...
Our Google Pixel 7a video review is up
The annual mid-range Google Pixel phone is arguably one of the most anticipated budget smartphones on the market and this year's Pixel 7a comes really close to the vanilla Pixel 7 in terms of features. However, beneath the surface, the Pixel 7a is just as capable. The handset sports Tensor G2 SoC, just like the Pixel 7, offers an excellent camera experience, and offers the same battery capacity as its more expensive sibling, while being slightly more compact. In any case, the device packs a serious punch and can challenge significantly more expensive handsets in some aspects, so...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ and S9 Ultra have their fast charging abilities outed
Samsung has long been rumored to introduce a new tablet family at its next Unpacked event, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 and the Galaxy Watch6 family. This event is now likely to take place in late July, and as we get closer to that point more and more details about these devices are being outed. Today we're talking about the Galaxy Tab S9+ and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra - two of the three tablets that should comprise the S9 family (the third being the 'vanilla' S9 model). Through a new TUV certification, we now know that there will be three versions of each. Samsung Galaxy Tab...
Motorola Razr 40 Ultra ads appear on billboards in Europe
Motorola is officially unveiling the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra foldables at an event on June 1, but some of its subsidiaries simply couldn't wait any longer, it seems, and decided to already put up a bunch of ads on billboards in the wild. Case in point - Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria, in the European Union. There are already ads for the Razr 40 Ultra on the streets of Sofia, even though we're still a couple of days removed from the big launch event. As you can see, these confirm the name yet again, and they don't shy on presenting the phone from both sides, letting us see...

The OnePlus 11 Marble Odyssey, announced in India last week, will go on sale in the country starting June 6 through Amazon.in and OnePlus' official Indian website. vivo V29 Pro teaser reveals the most important specs
Back in early March, vivo released the V27 Pro. Now, mere weeks later, the Chinese company is ready to unveil the V29 Pro. We're not sure what's going on here - normally jumping a couple of numbers forward is what successors do in vivoland, but a new release so soon is pretty weird. Regardless, vivo Philippines put up a teaser page for the upcoming V29 Pro, which is "coming soon". Thankfully, that page reveals most of the handset's main specs, so let's go through them and see how this model compares to the V27 Pro, at least on paper. The V29 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch 1080p 120 Hz...
Google developed a second foldable alongside the Pixel Fold but canceled it
If you heard rumors that Google was working on not one but two foldable smartphones in the past few months (and years), it turns out those mumblings were actually true, despite the fact that the company only eventually announced one of them, namely the Pixel Fold. Apparently there was a second foldable smartphone created by the same team that was in charge of the Pixel Fold. This other device apparently "wasn't good enough" which is why it was eventually canceled and never made it to market. The team felt like it should only launch devices that are good enough or better than what is out...
vivo Y78 goes global with a curved 6.78" 120Hz display and Snapdragon 695
vivo Singapore has quietly revealed the global version of the Y78 – we say “global” because it differs quite a bit from the Y78 that launched in China earlier this month. This one is bigger and with a different chipset, making it more similar to the Y78+ from April, though not quite identical either. vivo Y78 (global) The global vivo Y78 is equipped with a roomy 6.78” display – a 120Hz AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution (20:9) and an under display fingerprint reader. It’s a curved display, so the phone is relatively narrow for its size, measuring 164.3 x 74.8 x 7.9mm and...
ARM unveils the Cortex-X4, its fastest CPU yet, Cortex-A720 and A520 and 5th gen GPUs join it
ARM’s big.LITTLE CPU configurations have been around for years and the standard practice so far has been to have as many – or more – little cores as there are big cores. This is now changing with the introduction of ARM’s new designs. The high-power Cortex-X4, middle Cortex-A720 and small Cortex-A520 were unveiled today and will work in tandem to balance between performance and efficiency. ARM also introduced the DSU-120, which is what drives the DynamIQ Shared Unit system that allows different CPU cores to work together. With the DSU-120, chipset makers can build designs with up...
vivo S17 appears with Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, S17 Pro will have 50 MP selfie camera
The vivo S17 series will be officially unveiled on May 31, and we expect the vanilla vivo S17 and vivo S17 Pro to make an appearance. The mightier option is expected to have a Dimensity 8200 chipset, but the basic version is likely to have a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, according to a listing on Geekbench. The vivo V2283A device, said to be the vivo S17, was listed with “lahaina” chipset, and while this is the codename of the Snapdragon 888 series, we can confirm it is actually the 778G+ due to the different CPU combo, as well as the GPU being Adreno 642L. The listing also revealed the...

Weekly poll: are the Sony Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V on your shopping list?
As we’ve said before, Sony marches to the beat of its own drummer – while other brands rushed out Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones as soon as the chip was available, Sony just announced its first. Say “hello” to the Sony Xperia 1 V. Well, you’ll have to wait until the end of July until you can actually greet the Mark 5 flagship. With patience and €1,400/£1,300 in your wallet you too could own this prosumer camera phone. It’s not quite the Xperia Pro-I, but it’s not a run of the mill flagship either. This year Sony relented and moved away from the standard 12MP main camera it has been using for...
Weekly deals: the best smartphone deals from Germany, the UK, the US, and India
The Google Pixel family is experiencing a tug of war between the Pixel 7 and 7a and in some markets the old flagship has the upper hand thanks to solid price cuts. We also found great deals on all four iPhone 14 models, all three Galaxy S23 phones as well as a variety of mid-rangers. Germany The UK USA India Germany Now that the Pixel 7a is out, the older Pixel 7 is almost obsolete – unless you find a great offer. In Germany, you can pick it up for €546, compared to €510 for the 7a. Worth it? The 7 has slightly higher end hardware and €36 isn’t much, so it’s...

Huawei Mate X3 and P60 are selling very well in China
Huawei is apparently enjoying great popularity and brand loyalty, particularly in the sales of two of its latest flagship devices. Huawei CBG CTO Bruce Lee announced during the recent Huawei Mobile Innovation Technology Media Communication Conference that the Mate X3 foldable is the top seller in China, whereas the P60 series are the top sellers in the country in the 4000 to 6000 yuan price segment. There might be an additional asterisk somewhere in these essentially internal, self-reported statistics, but regardless, we can’t deny that there is obviously some truth to the claims....
Samsung Galaxy A24 in for review
We got our hands on the new Samsung Galaxy A24 so let's do an unboxing. Like the rest of Samsung's lineup of midrangers, the A24 comes with naught but a cable in its box. The Galaxy A24 packs a decent punch for its very reasonable price - upfront, there's a 6.5-inch 90Hz Super AMOLED panel of 1080p resolution, inside there's a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 with 4GB, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, as well as a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging (but you'd need to source the charger). The phone is made of plastic and is reasonably weighty at 195g. That weight makes the phone feel solidly put together....
Google Pixel’s At a Glance to start showing ridesharing status updates
We’ve kind of known that this feature has been in the pipeline for some time, but now a “Ridesharing” toggle has started appearing on actual Pixel devices. It is located in the main At a Glance feature settings, and its description reads: “Shows the status of your ride”. At a Glance Ridesharing toggle It will show how far out a car is to your position on the Pixel’s lockscreen with the intention of saving you time from having to open the app or the notification shade for the same info. Both Uber and Lyft are supported by the new “Ridesharing” display feature. This brings the...
Xiaomi India extends warranty to two years on some of its older models
Don’t get overly excited about this since it is a very specific extension, only covering a total of five devices. The announcement was made on Discord, of all places, by Xiaomi India, and it covers the Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Mi 11 Ultra and Poco X3 Pro. Extended warranty If you have purchased any of these devices in India in the last two years and are currently experiencing a selfie camera issue or a motherboard failure, then Xiaomi should take care of it under warranty. It is a small and very particular extension, which leads us to believe...
Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is back on the Google Play store and will be playable on May 29
If you are not in the know, the popular PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) franchise has been having plenty of problems with the government in India. The original version of the game was banned and taken down from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store way back in the day due to security concerns and violence-related reasons. Those events were then followed by the Krafton company releasing a specific version of the game in the country, called Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), which was also removed from mobile storefronts last year, once again due to security...
A new leak suggests iPhone 15 Pro Max will use the same main camera and display tech as the iPhone 14 Pro Max
If you've been around the rumor mill lately, then you'll probably know that one of the major expected innovations to arrive with the iPhone 15 Pro Max has been a new main camera, likely based on the Sony IMX903, 1" sensor. The latest industry insider tip, however, claims that the iPhone 15 will stick with the same IMX803, 48MP 1/1.28", Quad-Bayer camera that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max already have. iPhone 15 Pro MaxM12 Panel(Same as 14PM)imx803(Same as 14PM)3nm A17 BionicLPDDR5 8GB😔— Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) May 27, 2023 That's a bit of a bummer, and so is the rumor that the iPhone 15...
Mysterious Samsung phone pops up on GeekBench running what might be the Exynos 2300 chipset
We've heard details about the upcoming flagship Exynos 2400 already, but it seems like Samsung is also working on what is likely the Exynos 2300. GeekBench listing Last we hear about the Exynos 2300, it was said to rock a rather odd 9-core CPU setup, including one prime Cortex-X3 core, clocked at up to 3.09 GHz, four Cortex-A715 cores, working at 2.65 GHz and four Cortex-A510 ones, with a 2.1 GHz max frequency. A very similar 1+4+4 chip has now appeared in a mysterious Samsung device on GeekBench, going by the SM-S919O model number. While the reported CPU frequencies don't match...

vivo Y36 goes official in 4G and 5G versions
vivo introduced a new phone today, and its first launch is in Indonesia. We're talking about the Y36, which comes to succeed the Y35 from last August. The model has intriguingly been announced in two variants - one 4G, one 5G, although only the former has so far been listed on its official website for Indonesia. The only differences between the two are the chipset used and the names of the colorways they're going to be offered in: the 4G model gets the Snapdragon 680, and Glitter Aqua and Meteor Black, while the 5G iteration comes with MediaTek's Dimensity 6020 in Crystal Green and Mystic...
OnePlus Nord N30 5G runs Geekbench with Snapdragon 695 SoC on board
The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite has been released last month, and we've since heard that it would at some point land in the US under a different name - Nord N30 5G. The version with this name has, in fact, already been spotted in the Google Play Console, so the launch is definitely near. That assumption has been further cemented today by the fact that the Nord N30 5G has been spotted in the Geekbench database, with the model number CPH2513. As you can see, the prototype which ran the benchmark managed a single-core score of 888 and a multi-core score of 2,076. It's powered by the...

The alleged Xiaomi 13T Pro is depicted with thin bezels and a centered punch-hole for the front-facing camera while the back accommodates a square-ish camera module with two large-looking camera sensors and a third small one...

OnePlus 12 specs leak
The OnePlus 11, which is currently the Chinese company's flagship device, launched back in January. Its successor is already being worked on, as it turns out, and it will unsurprisingly be called OnePlus 12. According to a new leak from a usually reliable source, the OnePlus 12 will be launched in China in December. The "in China" qualifier is important because the global release might happen a few weeks (or months) after that. OnePlus 11 The phone is currently in engineering sample form, and in this form it sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset at the helm, a 6.7-inch QHD...

Nothing Phone (2) is officially coming in July with a 4,700 mAh battery
Nothing's second smartphone, the aptly named Phone (2), will arrive in July, according to CEO Carl Pei. He outed the information in an interview with Forbes today. Previously, Pei also revealed that the handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, making it a definite step above the mid-range Nothing Phone (1), while not quite being on par with 2023's flagships that use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. That decision was related to the comparative costs of the two SoCs, and the company judged the latest chip not worthy of the premium. We'll see how that pans out - we'd wager that a lot of...

iPhones running iOS 17 to be usable as smart displays when locked
iOS 17 is coming later this year alongside new iPhones, and a new report today from the generally very reliable Mark Gurman at Bloomberg sheds some light on what we can expect from Apple's next OS version, aside from performance improvements all-round. Perhaps the most intriguing new feature will be the ability to use your locked iPhone running iOS 17 pretty much like a smart display. It will show calendar appointments, weather information, and notifications in a new style reminiscent of an independent smart display. This view will allegedly only appear when the iPhone is in...
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE now rumored to arrive before the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Fold5
The sales of Samsung's Galaxy S23 family went down significantly this month, according to a new report from a leakster on Twitter. Rumor has it sales for the full second quarter (April to June) of the Korean company's flagship slab-style line will be down 20% compared to what the Galaxy S22 series managed last year. This seems to be down to lower than expected demand from "general consumers". The early adopters all bought their brand new devices by March, and after that apparently not many others wanted in on Samsung's latest and greatest. This is obviously far from ideal, and it allegedly...
