We attended a TCL briefing today as part of IFA's press days (you know, TCL the company behind BlackBerry) and they shared some interesting tidbits on the BlackBerry Keyone and what's to come next. The QWERTY-packing bar allegedly proved to be a "runaway success" and phones sell as fast as TCL can make them. The maker had to resort to launching on markets sequentally. So far they are at number 35, but with plans for that number to reach 50 by the end of the year. Those sales are split about 50/50 between businesses buying them for their employees and people getting one themselves...

Google Maps app gets public parkings and parking lots info
After launching the "Parking Difficulty" feature back in the beginning in 2017, now Google updated Maps with "Find Parking" option. In short, it will pull up a list of nearby parking lots and garages and will give you directions to it. There is also an availability of adding the parking in a list. The option is pretty neat and should work seamlessly, but only for Android in the beginning. Xiaomi India unveils new Redmi 4a model with 3GB of RAM
If the Redmi 4a feels a bit underpowered, then Xiaomi India has a surprise for you - a version with 3GB of RAM, up from the usual 2GB. This one also comes with 32GB storage. Set to go on sale on August 31, this model will cost INR 7,000. The regular 4a model, which is exclusive to Amazon India, is priced at INR 6,000 and there will be another sale on the same day - the 31st. Honor V9 Play arrives on September 6
Yesterday we told you about a mysterious phone rumored to have the name Honor V9 Mini. Today Huawei's subsidiary announced on Weibo that there is indeed a new phone on its way - it is the Huawei V9 Play and will come on September 6. According to Chinese news agency Anzhuo, the Honor V9 Play will run Kirin 659 chipset. It will be coupled with 4 GB RAM and will have one 12 MP camera on the back. EMUI 6.0 will be based on Android Oreo 8.0, a leak suggests
Huawei is preparing several launches in the forthcoming months. They will introduce the Kirin 970 chipset at IFA 2017, the Mate 10 phablet is being announced in October, and according to a Weibo leak, the new EMUI 6.0 will also come by the end of the year. It would be based on Android Oreo 8.0 that brings PIP mode and better control of the notifications.
